DUSA Distilleries is a liquor factory located near the foothills of the Andes, close to the Terepaima National Park. The company was founded in 1959 and initially was an alliance of leading distributors and producers in the region, producing a variety of alcoholic beverages - whiskey, gin, vodka, and liqueurs. It was called Licorerias Unidas SA. Rum production started only in 1961. The majority of shares and full control of the alliance belonged to Seagram until 2001 when the brand was acquired by Pernod Ricard and Diageo.
In November 2002, under the name Distilleries Unidas SA, the company came under the leadership of the charismatic manager Jose R. Ballesteros Melendez. The production facilities were strategically located near 5 sugar mills, Terepaima National Park, and wells with inexhaustible reserves of pure water with low mineral content. Additionally, the local climate - around +30°C during the day and approximately +6°C at night - combined with high humidity provides ideal conditions for the rapid growth of sugarcane.
Today, DUSA is a competitive, well-developed company that has consolidated its presence internationally. Their special pride and success lie in the production of high-quality rum. According to the company's leaders, their main goal is to satisfy their customers and provide consumers with beverages of exceptional quality.
